Test Cricket Facts and Records-1

                    As you all know that the Test cricket is oldest form of cricket and also the most appropriate form to judge the skills of a player as a complete cricketer. Cricket is also very famous in terms of the number and stats like others Sports in the world. Earlier I have written article like Top 10 ODI run scorers, top 10 T20 scorers, top 10 test wicket takers etc to collect most commonly asked stats about the cricket. Here in this article, I have brought in some interesting facts and records from the test cricket for you.    
  •   Sir Don Bradman holds the record of most double hundreds in cricket career. He scored 12 double hundreds in the 52 test matches he played in his cricketing career.

  • Sir Don Bradman holds the record of highest batting average in test cricket. He has an extraordinary batting average of 99.94 in test.
  •   Bradman along with Chris Gayle, Brian Lara and Virendra Sehwag holds the record of most triple hundreds. Each of them scored two triple hundreds in their career. 
  •  Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of most appearances in test matches. He has played 198 test matches for team India.
  •   Sachin Tendulkar is leading run scorer in test cricket history with 15837 runs in his career.
  •   Sri Lankan cricketer M Muralitharan holds the record of Winning most Man of the Series awards in Test Series. He has won it 11 Times in his cricket career.
  •   Hassan Raza of Pakistan is youngest player to make a debut in test matches at the age of 14 yrs and 227 days.
  •   Brian Lara holds the record of scoring highest runs in an inning when he scored 400*. He is the only player to score 400 in test cricket history.
    He also holds the record of scoring 500 runs in First Class cricket

  •   J Southerton of England is oldest player to make a debut in test matches at the age of 49 yrs and 119 days way back in 1877.
  •   W Rhodes of England had longest test career in the history that went on for 30yrs and 315 days.
  •   Graeme Smith holds the record of captaining in highest number of test matches. He captained South African team for 102 test matches.
