Rafael Nadal : Aiming for 8th French Open Title

Rafael Nadal proved once again why he is considered as the greatest clay court player ever in the history.  The Spanish player who is also known as “King of Clay” again shown why he is called so. He was against the Stanislas Wawrinka in the finals of the Madrid Open 2013. There was huge adoring crowd support for the Nadal as he was playing in his home country. He was playing in fifth final after making comeback from the knee injury after 7 months and that too on the Clay court. It was anticipated that this will be a cakewalk for the King of clay and the same happened. It is clearly visible in the scoreline of 6-2, 6-4 that helped Nadal to end the match in around One and half hour.

The scoreline shows that Wawrinka was no match for the Nadal who lost 9th match on row against the Spaniard. But Wawrinka has been a revelation this season and played awesome tennis and also displayed his skills by reaching in the finals of Madrid open in the presence of top 5 tennis player in the world. It was clearly visible in the match that Wawrinka was out of juice in final as he has already played some amazing tennis to outplay J.W. Tsonga and T. Berdych in earlier matches.

Madrid open is considered as the ideal tournament for the preparation for the French Open grand slam except. As the conditions are pretty much same in the both tournaments so all major players take part in this tournament and use this as the practice for the French Open. Now, next target is French open for which all the players have already started and that is what Nadal is also eying for. If Nadal wins the French Open he will win it for the record 8th time. But for that we have to wait for sometime.

For now, Congratulations to Rafael Nadal for his record 23rd ATP Masters 1000 title which is also world record and he is followed by 21 ATP Masters 1000 titles of Great Roger Federer.
