Cricket world is one match away to see the new T20 world cup 2014 champion. First edition winner India and 2012 finalist Sri Lanka are going to face each other for this prestigious title on April 6th, 2014 at Mirpur. This T20 final is going to be the last T20 match for Sri Lankan cricketing giants Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. India has qualified to the final in T20 world cup for 2nd time while Sri Lanka is going to play in the final for the 3rd time. Sri Lanka ended up as the runner up in 2009 and 2012 losing against the Pakistan and West Indies respectively.
Semi-Final Results : Sri Lanka defeated defending champion West Indies in the first Semi-final of World T20 in the rain affected match. Sri Lanka won the semi-final by 27 runs on the basis of controversial Duckworth-Lewis method and secured their place in the final.
India defeated South Africa in the semi-final by 6 wickets to cement their place in the final against the Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli was star for India in this match and played important role in winning the semi-final.
Venue : The final match between the India and Sri Lanka is going to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka (Bangladesh). Looking at the stats of the both semi-final this pitch is going to be friendly for the batsmen. Looking at the presence of cricket fans in earlier matches at all the venues this 25000 seating capacity stadium is expected to incorporate more than the strength as it is T20 world cup final.

Their main concern opening also clicked against the South Africa in the semi-final. India is eyeing to win this title for the 2nd time under the charismatic skipper Mahender Singh Dhoni.
STRENGTHS
Batting has been major strength for team India in T20 world cup 2014. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina has been in excellent touch with the bat and they have contributed in every match. Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli is leading run scorer in T20 world cup 2014 with 242 runs scoring at the strike rate of 128.04. Indian bowling has also contributed well, especially spin bowling led by Amit Mishra and R Ashwin. Leg spinner Amit Mishra has been the star bowler for India in this T20 edition.
WEAKNESS
Yuvraj Singh is yet to contribute at his best while the seamers are struggling to contain the opposition teams in last 5 overs to score freely. Indian fielding has been overall good but they need to improve that.

They might have failed on two occasions to put their hand on this title but this time they are more than determined to have in their kitty. This T20 trophy is very important for Sri Lanka team as they would like to give grand farewell to their legendary cricketers like Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara by winning it for them. Sri Lanka has been in a good form in this T20 edition and they also won Asia Cup 2014 defeating Pakistan in the final. If Sri Lanka manages to win it will be their first T20 World cup title.
STRENGTHS
They are a well balanced team having pools of players to play on the day for given pitch conditions. Mahela Jayawardene, Kusal Parera, Angello Mathews has been in great form in batting while bowling has been led by Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekara and Rangana Herath. Lasith Malinga has been crucial for Sri Lanka in their journey to the finals.
WEAKNESS
This team has the problem of plenty which is a quite pleasant team for a captain. Kumar Sangakkara and Thisara Parara haven’t performed according to their status in world cricket.
X-Factor : Rangana Herath can be the X-factor for Sri Lanka in T20 world cup final.

Favorite to Win T20 world Cup 2014 : Conditions in Bangladesh is pretty much same for both finalist India and Sri Lanka so, the team which can have control on their nerves will win this title. If we analyze the head to head records of these two teams and the number of times they have played each other in recent past India will certainly start as the favorite.
