BOWLING
Indian bowlers tried their heart out but they had very low score to defend. They could grab only 4 wickets but they bowled exceedingly well and tried their level best.
Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara was declared Man of the Match for his match winning innings of 52* runs of just 35 balls in which he hit 6 fours and 1 six. Virat Kohli was declared Man of the Series as he was the leading run scorer in the series with 319 runs at an average of 102.63.
Toss was crucial in this match as before the start of the match there was strong rain fall which made it tough for batsmen to score in the first inning. Decision of sending Yuvraj ahead of Raina and himself by Indian skipper Dhoni also costed the match to team India as Yuvraj has poor record against Spin attack. If Dhoni could have promoted himself ahead of Yuvraj Singh then the result could have been different.

ReplyDeleteThe way Virat has been performing he certainly has the skills along with the temperament and that is what made him excel in International cricket. And about breaking the records, he still has a very long way to go for that but he can definitely break that if performs continuously the way he has been performing for last couple of year.
DeleteIndian skipper Dhoni failed to deliver in final while new srilanka skipper Malinga did the job of captaincy brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteWell, Malinga was the stand in skipper for Sri Lanka. Dhoni can't be canted out only on the basis of one poor performance he is one the greatest captain in cricket history and also only captain to win all the ICC cricket tournament in cricket history.
